I determined that my system had two (2) of these “amd64_usb” sub-folders for each of three (3) ‘Unknown’/missing USB devices, and so I copied these (6) subfolders into my “C: Downloads HP Drivers USB USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver” folder to isolate them for any future possible necessary use. Expand category Universal Serial Bus controllers and find Intel® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller. Note if the driver is missing or corrupted, you will see a yellow mark next to the device. C) Search for the “Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver” from the device list and right click on it and select “Uninstall”. D) Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the uninstallation of the driver.
Hi all,
So a bit over a year ago I upgraded my Windows 7 - Windows 10, as I'm sure many of us have. I didn't uninstall intel usb 3.0 extensible host controller (As Windows 10 has its own) Anyway, that being said it's been hassle free for all this time until yesterday. For some reason all USB ports have been knocked out. Managing to get to device manager VIA a PS2 keyboard it's showing an issue with said driver (intel usb 3.0 extensible host controller). Partially blaming this (as it seems obvious). Is there any kind of work around? I use a wireless adapter, so annoyingly I can't just go and hop online and do it all that way. - If I just uninstall the driver, will Windows revert to using its own one again? Is there any risks of just uninstalling? Seems like Intel rolled out an update and it has incompatibility with Windows 10 annnd its automatically downloaded and installed the update. Meh, any help will be appreciated TIA

Hello,
I am attempting to install Windows 8 using Windows Upgrade assistant, and it won't let me continue until I uninstall 'Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller.' When I attempt to uninstall the 'Intel(R) Installation Framework' displays 'Removing Service: iusb3hcs' and hasn't changed for over an hour. The window is still responding, so nothing obvious has frozen. I've tried installing the driver before uninstalling it again, but the installation process hangs on 'Creating: wevtutil.exe'. Is there a way I can remove any trace of this driver so Windows 8 can proceed with the installation? Additionally, if this driver is removed, will I lose usb control? I am currently on Windows 7 64-bit, and my MB is a GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H. Any thoughts? Thanks, Ryan Comments are closed.
